Manuka Honey UMF 20+ is a premium raw honey extracted from pollen collected by bees foraging mainly within the MANUKA HEATH of NEW ZEALAND. The UMF® grading system rates MGO levels in honey at a maximum of 20,000 (UMF 20+). Available in: 250g / 500g / 1kg

Manuka Honey UMF 20+ is produced in beautiful Te Araroa, at the uppermost end of the North Island. Our honey is certified under UMF, the gold standard for Manuka Honey. Certifications are issued by the New Zealand Unique Manuka Factor Association (Licensee #1024) and the New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries. The MPI Export Certificate guarantees that this is pure Monofloral Manuka Honey produced at facilities inspected and approved for food production in New Zealand. On arrival to the U.S. this Manuka is stored in our honey room under controlled temperature and humidity.

This is crucial, as repeated exposure to high heat can destroy the product. The grading of Manuka Honey UMF 20+ is based on the levels of four unique signature compounds naturally occurring in Manuka Honey:
Methylglyoxal (MGO) is the main compound for grading. The higher the levels, the more potent the honey is.
Leptosperin is a compound found only in manuka flower nectar and can only be created by nature. Measuring this unique component ensures the authenticity of manuka honey.
Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is slowly converted to MGO in healthy living honey. The higher the DHA content, the longer the life of the MGO content in your manuka honey.
Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) Level of this compound assures honey has not been overheated or stored too long, and is in the best condition to maintain the unique blend of living properties in manuka honey.
